Blueprint to Reality

Three months ago, this was just a blueprint, a layout drawn up over coffee, where the Game Lounge didn’t exist yet and the idea of “Submerged” was still half dream, half cobbled together ideas. Now, I’m standing in it.
Admittedly, the sofa’s different. We took one from another office down the hall. There’s no plant in the corner and no reception desk either… why? We stuck the sign on the wall and kept moving. That weird red mark on the map? That’s a power cabinet we couldn’t remove, so we built a cage around it and made it part of the submarine. I like to call it adaptation by design, which has become part of our leadership training approach.
The original design had a poker-style circular table for gaming, which we swapped for a long one and 10 chairs. It’s way better for team interaction, collaboration, and team building. The doors marked in blue? We added those too, so we could break the workshop into smaller phases. You know, looking at it now, it’s not perfect. Some parts still bug me, but I’m learning to live with that being part of the process - something we emphasize in our escape room training for leaders and teams.
When we started thinking of what this room would look like, I had big ideas: portholes with bubbling water, aquarium sprayers, riveted metal walls, maybe even a tentacle or two (we actually made one out of a pool noodle; no regrets). I’ve become comfortable with the fact that it will never match the image in my head, but it’s about as close as reality gets, and the feedback from participants says we’re doing something right.
We recently had over 20+ people come for our first real demo night, and we’ve had a swarm of other teams come around and try the full workshop out. That’s when it really hit me: this is more than an escape room Singapore experience - it’s a structured leadership escape room training program designed for team development training.
Yet it all started from a sketch on a page. It’s crazy to me how it feels like if you’re building something and it feels like it’s never quite “done,” you’re probably doing it right. That’s true whether you’re designing a submarine-themed escape room or growing as a leader with your team.
Sign up to join our demo nights and experience Submerged: the Escape Room Leadership Training and Team Building Workshop in Singapore. Whether you’re looking for leadership training Singapore companies can trust, or a fresh approach to team development training, this immersive experience is designed to help teams strengthen bonds, adapt, and grow together.
