Navy Hat and Other Easter Eggs

One small thematic touch I love in Submerged is my dad’s old Navy hat and uniform patch.
It’s safely tucked away in an “off-limits” part of the room. It’s not part of any puzzle, it’s purely for decoration.
So far, I haven’t heard any comments about his hat or his patch, either in our workshops or just over the mics in the room, but I’m still happy it’s there.
My dad wasn’t really a big military guy, far from it, actually. Like most people of his generation, he did a few years of service, and he’d joke that his role as Storekeeper showed just how fit (or rather physically unfit) he was for service.
We put a few Easter eggs in our room to surprise and delight our customers during this workshop. This one, though? This one is there just for me.
It’s nice to have a little thing to remind me of my dad when I walk into the room, and helps me think that somewhere, somehow my dad is looking down and cheering me on.
