Learn About Teams Through Board Games

One of my favorite things about using board games in team development is how quickly they reveal the things we usually hide in normal meetings, such as hesitation, confidence, impatience, and trust.
The Mind is a perfect example because it looks like a simple card game, but the moment people realise they can’t speak, you start to see how they actually communicate. Body language becomes the whole strategy. I love using games like The Mind in my workshops because they demonstrate how teams truly communicate when words are taken away.
It’s incredible how much you learn about a team in two minutes of silent chaos.
At Teamwork Unlocked, we use simple games like this to unlock real awareness and help build better teams. For more information, see here.
And if you enjoy the board-game side of what I do, I’ve just launched a new LinkedIn Board Gaming Newsletter starting with my Top 100 Games of all time and would love for you to check it out and subscribe.
